Lansmont Corporation was founded in 1971 to foster significant advancements in the emerging product and package dynamics testing industry.  Today, Lansmont is recognized globally as the undisputed leader in this specialized industry. 

We strive to help our customers achieve product improvements, better packaging, increased materials effectiveness, and more efficient transport.

Our products are used in a wide range of industries - from basic packaging materials, to bulk commodities, and highly sophisticated electronics and medical devices. Lansmont equipment is applied to many business activities including product and package design, reliability, transportation logistics, and risk management. 

Over the years our approach has developed into this 6 Step Procedure for Package development: 

Step 1:	Define your Shipping Environment:	Measure & Understand what happens to your product during shipment.
Step 2:	Product Fragility Analysis:	Test your product to quantify its ruggedness.
Step 3:	Product Improvement Feedback:	If it is too fragile - improve the product design.
Step 4:	Packaging Material Performance Evaluation:	Find the packaging materials that can protect your product.
Step 5:	Package Design:	Combine information about the environment, product ruggedness, and packaging material performance with cost and logistical information to form a product / package system design.
Step 6:	Test the Product/Package System:	Test the product / package system to ensure that all design goals have been met.

These testing protocols have evolved into ASTM, NIST, ISTA and IoPP standards that are now well accepted worldwide. Over the years Lansmont has been very active, with other industry leaders, in formalizing these standards.
