Behind the scenes at Lansmont

HSXX20 Extreme Speed Impact Test System

Keith Nordyke introduces the new Lansmont HSXX20 Shock Machine.  This system was developed for the US Air Force Research Laboratory to produce extreme impact speeds in a very small footprint.

VITS Vertical Impact Test System - Blast Effect Simulation

Keith Nordyke introduces the new Lansmont VITS. This system is used by the US Army Research Center to simulate the effect of a roadside explosion beneath a military vehicle. The Army is looking to increase survivability of roadside blast encounters and this high performance system was created to test vehicle seats and restraint systems.

NASA Space Flight Awareness Award

Fred Hendricks of ATK tells the Lansmont team "You are a big part of the space program. Your little recorder, we rely on it for every mission." In recognition, Eric Whitfield of Lansmont was selected for the Space Flight Awareness Launch Honoree Award. Eric was invited to Kennedy Space Center to observe the launch of a shuttle mission.

Operator Certification & Training Programs

Eric Joneson stops by to talk with us about the Lansmont Operator Certification programs. He describes the process as similar to getting a drivers license for your equipment.  The goal of the program is to allow you to be confident, safe and productive when you step into your lab.

NASA - Friends in High Places

Astronaut Greg Chamitoff visited Lansmont Corporation to share his space travel experience and also thank Lansmont for our part in making that possible. Chamitoff was joined by Steve Larsen, Terri Day, Fred Hendricks and Rick Jones, all from ATK Launch Systems. ATK produces the Reusable Solid Rocket Motors (RSRM), which are used to boost the Space Shuttle into orbit. Lansmont recently was awarded a contract by ATK to provide SAVER Instruments which will be used to monitor and assure the safe shipment of all RSRMs from their assembly location in Utah to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Field Instrument Development History

"Set the WABAC (Wayback) Machine Mr. Peabody"
Bill Wilson, curator of the Lansmont Field Instrument Museum, takes us back in time to trace the origins of today's field instruments.

High Performance Servo Valve

Meet the great Kevin Gilman, shock & vibration guru and Lansmont's Chief Engineer. Kevin talks with us about development of the new High Performance Servo Valve. This super cool servo valve is "Single Stage - Direct Drive - High Flow - High Frequency".

HITS 91 Horizontal Impact Test system

Keith Nordyke talks with us about the HITS 91 Horizontal Impact Test system. This high performance system was created for the US Army Research Center to test vehicle seats and seat restraint systems. The Army is looking to increase survivability of roadside blast encounters for vehicle occupants.
