Lansmont to Host International Ship Shock Course

June 17-19, 2008, Lansmont will host an International Short Course on Ship Shock Modeling and Simulation & Equipment Shock Qualification at our corporate headquarters in Monterey, California. Dr. Young S. Shin, Professor of the Naval Post Graduate School’s Department of Mechanical and Astronautical Engineering will deliver this three-day course. The purpose of this course is to provide engineers (1) modeling and simulation techniques of surface ships to compute the responses of ship structural systems and components to underwater explosions, and (2) review of the Dynamic Design Analysis Method (DDAM) for shock qualification of shipboard equipment. 1-D, 2-D and 3-D demonstration models and ship shock simulations are reviewed.
