ATK, a NASA prime contractor, awarded Lansmont Small Business Subcontractor of the Year earlier this year.

ATK representatives Jenifer Scoffield and Steve Larsen joined Lansmont at our Monterey headquarters on June 22 to inform us we would receive this honor and to celebrate our joint accomplishments during the NASA Mentor-Protégé program which we completed earlier this year.

Speaking on the Lansmont – ATK partnership, Program manager Steve Larsen said, “Lansmont sets a standard for customer service that rivals any that I have seen in the aerospace procurement industry.

They are constantly looking for ways to improve all aspects of their business. Lansmont products and technical competence in support of ATK have been outstanding.” During our participation in the NASA Mentor-Protégé program, Lansmont worked with ATK to enhance our production and quality systems. One of the major accomplishments during the 18 months was having over 90% of our employees participate in Performance Enterprise System (PES) Training. PES is ATK’s quality program which is modeled after the Toyota quality system.

Smaller groups from our engineering, materials, production, and quality departments received additional training on configuration management, internal audit techniques, and root cause analysis.
