Lansmont and Team Corporation Join Data Physics To Form Noise & Vibration Platform
Battery Ventures, a global investment firm, has reached an agreement to acquire a controlling stake in Lansmont Corporation and Team Corporation. Lansmont, based in Monterey, Calif., and Team—a subsidiary of Lansmont based in Burlington, Wash.–will join Data Physics as independent operating companies within Battery’s portfolio of test-and-measurement companies focusing on noise and vibration. Together, these companies create a leading and comprehensive platform of vibration-testing equipment with global reach. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“This is great news for our customers and employees, as we now have a partner to pursue our vision of growth and extend our reach with an expanded, complete product set,” said Joe Driscoll, CEO of Lansmont and Team. Dave Huntley, president of Lansmont and Team added, “The investment by Battery represents the future in noise and vibration testing, and I look forward to helping take this dynamic group of companies to the next level.” Huntley will remain involved with the group.
Founded in 1971, Lansmont is a global manufacturer of products for measuring real-world dynamics and simulating them in laboratory environments. Team, founded in 1954, is widely considered a leader in high-performance, vibration-testing systems and related components. Both companies’ solutions are used by customers across the globe to improve quality and enhance product design. Together the group will be able to offer its customers a more complete vibration solution.
Louis Pace, group CEO said, “The combination of Lansmont and Team with Data Physics will enable us to accelerate new product development, deepen our technical expertise, expand our geographic presence and broaden our product and service offerings. We are looking forward to working with management to grow the business and meet their long term objectives.”
“After closing our Data Physics acquisition in February, it is exciting to make such quick progress in expanding our product portfolio with both Lansmont and Team,” said Jesse Feldman, Battery Ventures general partner. “We continue to find complementary companies with strong technologies to bring to the group and are focused on serving more customers on a global basis with a wide range of market-leading products.”
