Lansmont is proud to announce that Eric Joneson, a member of our team, has been awarded the R. David LeButt Award by the ISTA Educational Foundation (ISTAEF). This prestigious award is given to packaging professionals who have made significant contributions to education in transport packaging.
Eric is a Michigan State University School of Packaging graduate who has spent his entire 34-year career with Lansmont Corporation. He started in customer support, helping customers install new test systems and providing training on proper use. Over the years, Eric has been involved in hands-on laboratory testing experiences that have driven his interest and involvement in test standards development. This has led him to participate and present at ISTA events since 1996.
As primarily responsible for Lansmont's applications training activities, Eric has delivered seminars, webinars, and other training programs. His continued environmental measurement and analysis activities have made him a frequent presenter at many technical events held around the world. Eric also serves as Lansmont's University Liaison, where he frequently guest lectures at packaging programs.
Eric's dedication to educating the packaging industry and beyond about designing and testing packaged products for transit makes him incredibly deserving of this award. He has been a highly regarded presenter at ISTA events spanning the globe for many years, and he has positively impacted so many people through speaking and teaching in both formal and informal settings.
The ISTA Educational Foundation established the R. David LeButt Award in 1999 to recognize professionals like Eric who have made significant contributions to packaging education. Since its creation, this award has been given to 22 other professionals.
We are incredibly proud of Eric's accomplishments and grateful for his continued dedication to education in transport packaging. Eric will be recognized at the annual ISTA Forum, including TempPack and TransPack events, which will be held May 1 - 3, 2023 at the Marriott Marquis in Houston, Texas. Congratulations, Eric!
